gym rules
and etiquette
Be respectful to all members, parents, visitors, the school, and the instructors. We are a team.
Check in on the iPad before each class.
Fingernails/toenails must be trimmed.
Use the wipes provided when first stepping onto the mats and if you step off the mats without sandals/shoes on.
All clothing and Gis must be clean, and you must have good hygiene. Nobody wants to have that awkward conversation with you, but we will.
All jewelry must be removed when training (bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings that are not plain bands, etc.) as it is dangerous to yourself and your teammates.
No shoes on the mats - no bare feet in the bathroom! Sandals are recommended.
Apply submissions slowly, give your partner time to tap.
Tap early, and often.
If you are sick, please do not train.
If you have a skin infection, do not train until cleared by your doctor.
If you are late for class/your schedule doesn’t allow you to show up for the beginning of class, we understand - but your instructor has to continue on with teaching all of the students and cannot always take time away from the class to catch you up on what you missed.
Remember that you are a part of what nurtures a positive, safe, and fun environment for everyone.
